This workshop explores the intersections of domestic violence and immigration, highlighting the unique challenges faced by immigrant survivors. Participants will learn about common barriers to safety, available legal remedies, and potential pitfalls, as well as how organizations like Sarah’s Inn provide support. The session will also examine how recent policy changes have affected immigrant survivors and the advocates and community members who support them.

The Sarah’s Inn Winter Training Institute is a four-part virtual training series for individuals interested in exploring advanced topics in domestic violence work. Sessions will cover facilitating support groups, supporting immigrant survivors of domestic violence, teen dating violence, and sustaining internship cohorts. This series is especially relevant for social service professionals and others who may encounter domestic violence in their work and want to deepen their understanding of its dynamics and related issues. Participants may register for individual sessions or receive a discounted rate by registering for all four.
