This interactive workshop explores the development and implementation of support groups for adults who identify as survivors of domestic violence. Participants will learn how to structure, plan, and facilitate groups using a trauma-informed approach grounded in cultural humility. Trainers will lead dynamic discussions on key considerations, common challenges, and best practices for effective group facilitation. Participants will also have the opportunity to apply their learning through a guided role-play. While the primary focus is on adult groups, the session will also include discussion of child and teen support groups.

The Sarah’s Inn Winter Training Institute is a four-part virtual training series for individuals interested in exploring advanced topics in domestic violence work. Sessions will cover facilitating support groups, supporting immigrant survivors of domestic violence, teen dating violence, and sustaining internship cohorts. This series is especially relevant for social service professionals and others who may encounter domestic violence in their work and want to deepen their understanding of its dynamics and related issues. Participants may register for individual sessions or receive a discounted rate by registering for all four.
