This workshop explores the development and sustainability of internship programs within domestic violence agencies. Participants will learn how strong internship programs prepare students to support clients, understand the dynamics of power and control, and navigate the nuances of domestic violence work, while also building a network of community providers. The session will cover the benefits and challenges of internship programs, key logistical considerations, and effective approaches to supervision, providing practical guidance for developing and maintaining successful programs.

The Sarah’s Inn Winter Training Institute is a four-part virtual training series for individuals interested in exploring advanced topics in domestic violence work. Sessions will cover facilitating support groups, supporting immigrant survivors of domestic violence, teen dating violence, and sustaining internship cohorts. This series is especially relevant for social service professionals and others who may encounter domestic violence in their work and want to deepen their understanding of its dynamics and related issues. Participants may register for individual sessions or receive a discounted rate by registering for all four.
