Session 2 – PAIP & Prevention

Friday, January 31st, 10am-12pm
Summary: How can we motivate attitude and behavior change in people who have caused harm? How can we create peer advocates against teen dating violence from youth who haven’t started dating yet? Learn about the programmatic parallels of Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP) and youth Prevention. Identify common myths and facts about the unique audiences served by these two programs and how those myths hinder work to end violence in our communities. Deep-dive into the guiding philosophies that inform interventions facilitators can use to help motivate change within diverse client groups. Examine how PAIP and Prevention staff can facilitate change and accountability so that individuals can begin to identify harmful, learned behaviors and make safer, healthier choices in the future, with the goal of ending intimate partner violence.
