Join us on Wednesday, April 22 for Together We Inspire, an educational breakfast exploring the hidden impact of traumatic brain injury in intimate partner violence. The program features a keynote from Dr. Dorothy Kozlowski, followed by a conversation led by Michele Weldon with Dr. Kozlowski and Dr. Sonya Crabtree-Nelson, offering insights and strategies to better support survivors and create change in our communities and workplaces.

Dorothy Kozlowski Ph.D., KEYNOTE SPEAKER/PANELIST
Dr. Kozlowski is the Vincent DePaul Professor and Chair of Neuroscience at DePaul University Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Illinois Coalition to Address Intimate Partner Violence–Induced Brain Injury. She is a leading neuroscientist whose research focuses on understanding the brain’s response to injury and recovery. She brings critical attention to the often-overlooked role of brain injury in intimate partner violence.
Sonya Crabtree-Nelson, Ph.D., LCSW, panelist
Dr. Crabtree-Nelson, is an Associate Professor of Social Work at DePaul University, Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Illinois Coalition to Address Intimate Partner Violence–Induced Brain Injury. She has over 15 years of direct practice experience in child welfare and domestic violence, with a focus on trauma and resiliency.
Michele Weldon, Event Host/Moderator
Michele Weldon is an award-winning journalist and author of seven nonfiction books. She is emerita faculty at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a senior leader with The OpEd Project. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, and other major outlets.
