Position Summary

The Child & Family Counselor provides trauma-informed counseling, advocacy, and supportive services to children, teens, and families impacted by domestic violence. This position offers individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, domestic violence education, referrals, and general and legal advocacy to help children and adolescents heal from the effects of abuse. Working collaboratively with parents and caregivers, the Child & Family Counselor uses trauma-informed interventions to strengthen child-parent relationships, promote family resilience, and support healthy development. The Child & Family Counselor reports to the Counseling Program Supervisor and works closely with members of Sarah's Inn's Counseling and Intervention teams to provide comprehensive, survivor-centered services that foster safety, healing, and hope.
